Tatort Oberhousen

"Tatort Oberhousen" is a docu-fictional multimedia performance that blends scenic reading with seamless video projections, creating an immersive narrative about alien invasion, urban identity, and human resilience. Based on two months of field research in Oberhausen as a "Stadtbotschafter" (city ambassador), the piece weaves real interviews with citizens and institutions into a sci-fi satire, exploring how a galactic investigator (trapped in a human body) rediscovers humanity’s potential through Oberhausen’s quirks, struggles, and hidden gems.

From stolen excavator parts to an antifascist elder cavalry, underground trolls, and a local cult around artist Christoph Schlingensief, the agent’s report becomes a love letter to Oberhausen’s unpolished, rebellious spirit. The performance asks: What if the narratives that condemn us are built on the parts of the story we’re never allowed to tell?

Lautnah Media oversees all aspects of artistic creation of "Tatort Oberhousen”.
